Located alongside the Resthaven care home facility, one of the many benefits of living at Resthaven is that if you, or your partner's care needs do change, our residents are able to transfer into the care home (dependent on room availability), where you can remain close to friends and stay within the familiar surroundings of site.

Resthaven Village

Resthaven Village offers a welcoming and homely, small-town lifestyle with a team of dedicated staff to make living there a real pleasure.

Nestled on a large site and within easy walking distance to the main shopping centre in Gore, Resthaven looks out to beautiful views of the surrounding Eastern Southland hills. If you’re looking for a space to breathe in your retirement, Resthaven is ideal for you.

Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence, keep active, try new hobbies and continue to enjoy the people and activities they love. Village residents can also enjoy a variety of activities including gardening, pétanque, bowls, exercises sessions, village “Sit and Natter” sessions, arranged outings and more. Being the home of Hokonui Moonshine and the country music capital of New Zealand, entertainment options are plentiful, and the wider Gore area also boosts a thriving arts and crafts community.

The village comprises a mix of single bedroom and two-bedroom units. Cottages sold under the occupation right agreement. A very limited number of rental units are also available on site.
